Selecting a team is the most important moment of any Madden 25 franchise. Choose wisely and you set yourself up for success all year. Choose poorly and you are destined for mediocrity.

Our goal with these power rankings is to give you an idea of the best teams to take and why. Obviously, your personal preferences will come into play and there is no way we can account for that so please keep that in mind as you are going through this article.

We are also going to assume that our league will last for at least 4+ seasons. The teams best equipped to win right now are often mediocre teams by the 2nd or 3rd year of your franchise.
This edition's article we have partnered with the 4 verts on X, make sure to give them a follow. They post some great content all season long! The 4 Verts

So in this article, teams are broken down into 8 categories. Inside of these 8 categories teams are graded 1-32, with 1 being the best and 32 being the worst:

  • YPI (Youth Power Index): This is what I call Youth Power Index. It's a weighted score of younger players impact on the team. Young + Good.
  • Salary Cap: This is projecting out to 2025 cap which is the first year we will be able to control in the game. Keep in mind, teams can have a lot of cash right now but A LOT of players to sign.
  • QB Rankings: This takes into account their age, skill, development, and some other items mixed into a weighted formula. This is more of a projection of stability at the position for the cycle.
  • OLine: The top offensive line in franchise mode.
  • Weapons (Offensive weapons): Here is a breakdown looking at the long term viability of the weapons on each team balanced with short term impact.
  • Optimal Rush: This is an inside look at an ideal rush scenario and the effectiveness of the rushers.
  • Run D: The best run defense grades in franchise mode.
  • Coverage: The best coverage units for franchise mode.

From those categories, we computed the overall score of each team giving them their 1-32 ranking, as you can see below:

#1 DALLAS COWBOYS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (9)

The Dallas Cowboys are coming in at the top rated team to choose in your franchise. Right now their salary situation is very good however they do have a lot of players to sign. Dallas has some dominant players in Micah Parsons, CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott just to name a few. They are coming in at 4th in their YPI which makes them one of the youngest teams in the league. Their offensive line which is usually 1 or 2 comes in at number 5 because of the loss of Tyron Smith but still coming in very strong, especially with Zack Martin. Dallas doesn't have many weaknesses, unless you want to breakdown their offensive weapons. Losing Tony Pollard was a big blow, as the ageless wonder Ezekiel Elliott makes his return to Dallas to possibly be the number 1 back. CeeDee Lamb is a huge weapon but other than him there's not that many on offense. Brandin Cooks, who is an MOF legend, is starting to get older so we'll see if he can still dominate as in years past. The Dallas Cowboys have had a lot of MOF failure, so whoever picks them this edition has a lot of pressure to win!

#2 BALTIMORE RAVENS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (10)

The Baltimore Ravens come in ranked 2nd behind Dallas by .13 tenths of a point. That's how close these metrics were. You could easily say Baltimore is the top team to choose in franchise mode, because just take a look at that roster. They have everything you need and want to start your franchise. Arguably the best QB in Lamar Jackson, they have LBs in Roquan Smith and Trenton Simpson. They are ranked 7th in weapons, 2nd in run defense, 2nd in coverage. What don't they have? Oh and they signed Derrick Henry in the offseason. I'm not sure how many seasons you will get out of Derrick Henry, but you'll at least get 1 and it's unfair with that offense to have a back like that as well. 5 x-factors to start the franchise is really nice and the emergence of Kyle Hamilton is going to really be something to keep an eye on. Whoever chooses the Ravens will be a coach to be reckoned with and we're looking forward to seeing who drafts them.

#3 NEW YORK JETS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (11)

The Jets are a top tier team in Madden 25. Doesn't that sound odd? It's been a long time since the Jets were considered a top franchise team, and it's not even for the reasons you might think. Aaron Rodgers is only rated an 83 and odds are you are only going to get 1 or maybe 2 seasons out of Rodgers before he retires, clearing up a lot of cap. If you take the Jets, be ready to have a plan for QB from the start. The Jets have the top run defense in the game with Quinnen Williams leading the charge. The Jets also went out and signed DE Haason Reddick to go along with that already stout defense. The Jets made a few other splashes in free-agency, LT Tyron Smith and WR Mike Williams. Two players that will make immediate impact. The Jets have a 13 in YPI which is right in the middle of the pack, and it's probably more or less because of Rodgers age. I think the Jets are a team that is a fantastic pick, they have everything you would want and need in a franchise team.

#4 SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (12)

The 49ers have been one of the top teams to pick for a few editions now. They have pretty much everything you want to start a franchise. They are number 1 in offensive weapons and how could they not be? Aiyuk, Deebo, Kittle, CMC. They have a cheap QB in Purdy who you will need to make a decision on in the 1st off-season. The real problem the 49ers have is their salary. They are ranked 28th in salary cap, so you're going to have to be a very good general manager to get through the first offseason without losing too much star power. The 49ers defense is also one of the tops in the league. 3rd in optimal rush, with Nick Bosa, Dre Greenlaw, and Fred Warner leading the way. There's no doubt the 49ers deserve to be this high, but like we mentioned, the salary cap will have to be managed very well to succeed beyond the first season or so.

#5 KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (13)

The Chiefs are a lot like the 49ers here. One of the top teams over the past few editions and it's because primarily of the top QB in the game, Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes comes in rated a 99 overall and that makes the Chiefs QB situation the tops in the league. In addition to that, their Youth Power Index is also tops in the league. With their young core of WR and RBs. The Chiefs offensive line is also blue chips all over the place. Ranked 3rd overall in the league. So why aren't the Chiefs the top team coming into this edition? Well, it's because of their salary issues. They are 27th in Salary Cap, which means they need a few guys to go so they can free up some space, which is probably why we see Travis Kelce traded almost every edition. Their coverage also needs work ranked 26th overall. But when you have Mahomes, you can easily put the Chiefs in the top 5, even the top 2.

#6 PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (14)

The Eagles are just getting better every edition somehow. They lose Jason Kelce on the offensive line, but they go out and sign Saquon Barkley away from the Giants. The Eagles still have the 2nd best offensive line in the game with Lane Johnson, Jordan Mailata, and Landon Dickerson fronting them up for Barkley and company. Jalen Hurts takes a step back this edition but still an x-factor rated 86 overall. The Eagles are rated 14th in the QB department, which might be unfair, but its something you have to watch out for if you have regression on and have a tough 1st season with Hurts. The Eagles are 5th in weapons overall, with AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, and the mentioned Barkley. They have weapons all over the place. They are also 6th in YPI, very young, very good. The one weak spot is their run defense, which is 4th worst in the league. It's not enough to put the Eagles lower than where they are though, they are a still a top pick.

#7 DETROIT LIONS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (15)

The Lions are coming off an NFC Championship appearance and are trending up in the Madden world. Amon-Ra St. Brown is a play making x-factor WR that is going to be fun to play with, the guy has 99 catch, and upper 90s route running. Gibbs and Montgomery are a great 1-2 punch at HB and Sam LaPorta at TE gives a great short yardage sure thing for a 1st down. There's no question the Lions offense is top tier, their offensive line is ranked top in the MOF. Their YPI is 2nd behind the Chiefs. Their weapons are ranked 3rd! However, their weaknesses are on defense. 14th in optimal rush, 19th in run d, and 14th in coverage. So the Lions franchise will be a top team taken, but they will need some work and development on defense. I still believe their QB ranking is better than 26 but with Goff getting older and his rating not too great, they might need another option.

#8 BUFFALO BILLS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (16)

The Buffalo Bills are trending in the wrong direction as they come in as the 8th ranked team to start a franchise with. Obviously 8 is very good, its still top 10 and they are still a great team to choose. However, there are more holes this edition for Buffalo than previous editions. They still have Josh Allen leading the charge with his 99 throw power and x-factor ability. He's arguably the 2nd best QB in the game, and you can build a nice young team around him. We figure that is what needs to be done with the Bills who come in 18th in YPI. They are middle of the pack in salary, as they traded Stefon Diggs in the offseason but that hurt their weapons rating as they come in at 22nd. HB James Cook and WR Curtis Samuel are their top offensive targets which isn't anything to write home about. The bread and butter of the Bills is their run defense. Led by Von Miller, who is probably on his last season, the Bills are very good in their optimal rush rating as well. Buffalo is in a tough division now, the Jets and Dolphins have gotten better so this is will be a fun team to play with.

#9 JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (17)

The Jaguars were turning into a very hot pick the last few editions, this edition they have taken a bit of a step back. Although they are still very very strong on defense, the QB situation is turning into a messy one. Ranked 13th in QB Ranking, the Jags are paying Lawrence a lot of money to be rated a 79. The first season is going to be a breaking point, whoever coaches them is going to have to have a good season with TLaw or have a tough decision to make. The YPI of the Jaguars is very good at 10th overall. The offensive line is not very good at all, ranked 29th overall. So that is something that is going to need immediate improvement. I really like Etienne, Ridley, Engram, Kirk, and that puts them 10th in offensive weapons. The run defense is probably the strongest part of the team though. With OLB Josh Allen who is a hybrid edge player. Arik Armstead and Foyesade Oluokun are also very strong defenders. The Jaguars will be a good pick, they definitely need development and a GM to make some moves but they have some solid pieces in place to build a great franchise around.

#10 CLEVELAND BROWNS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (18)

The Cleveland Browns are all over the place, but generally speaking they are a solid team to start your franchise with. Their biggest strengths are their offensive line with Joe Bitonio (87 ovr), Wyatt Teller (86 ovr), and Jack Conklin (80 ovr). Also their optimal rush rating is 2nd best in the league and that is thanks to the beast that is RE Myles Garrett. Garrett has an 87 speed and 91 accel to go along with a 96 strength rating. That's just unfair and makes him an outstanding edge player. Their secondary also is very strong, the 3rd best in the MOF with CB Denzel Ward (90 ovr), and CB Greg Newsome II (85 ovr). Now their weaknesses are big ones. They are ranked dead last in Salary Cap, and that's due to the fact that they paid Deshaun Watson ALOT of money, and they are coming in at 23rd in QB ranking. Also their YPI is not very good, 22nd, which means they need to get younger in a hurry before they are in trouble. The Browns have more upside than down, I believe, and thats why they are 10th on the list .

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (19)
#11 CHICAGO BEARS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (20)

The Chicago Bears are turning into a very sexy pick with the addition of possible the best rookie in the game, QB Caleb Williams. The Bears also went out and got WR Keenan Allen and HB D'Andre Swift to help that offense, giving the Bears the 11th best weapons ranking in the MOF. The Bears also have the 5th best QB ranking due to the fact of Williams being a rookie, having very good upside and being on a rookie salary. Speaking of salary the Bears are right smack in the middle ranked 15th overall. The Bears are a middle of the pack team which will be fun to play with no doubt about it. They have some serious MOF prestige so whoever drafts them, needs to understand what comes along with that! I'm really liking the addition of FS Kevin Byard, which is going to be strange to not see him winning awards for the Titans. Also TJ Edwards and Tremaine Edmunds at LB. The Bears should be a top pick coming into the team draft, it will be fun to see them develop QB Caleb Williams.

#12 MIAMI DOLPHINS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (21)

The Miami Dolphins are LOADED with talent and play makers all over the field. Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, De'Von Achane, Raheem Mostert, Odell Beckham Jr., Tua Tagovailoa and that's just on offense. On defense Jalen Ramsey, Jevon Holland, Kendall Fuller.. the list goes on and on and on. The speed, the play makers, the fun! The Dolphins are ranked 12th but I know for a fact that they will go higher than that. The issue with Miami is that they are not a young team (24th in YPI) and they are in salary cap trouble (29th). They also need some better rushers as they are 19th in optimal rush, which isn't terrible but it's lower than middle of the pack. All i know is that whoever gets Miami is going to be putting up points, because how are you going to cover all that speed?

#13 GREEN BAY PACKERS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (22)

The Green Bay Packers are an up and coming team and should be a popular pick in the upcoming MOF draft. The Packers have the 3rd best YPI and that's always great to start a franchise with a young good team. Their salary cap is about average a little below but nothing a few trades or retirements can fix. QB Jordan Love is ready to take the next step into the upper echelon of the league as the Packers are ranked 10th in QB ranking. The offensive line is below average, and the Packers coach will have to improve that line if they want to protect that QB and free up space for the newly acquired HB Josh Jacobs. The optimal rush and run defense of the Packers is below average. After DT Kenny Clark and LE Rashan Gary, the Packers lack star power in the front 7. Their secondary though.. ranked 11th in coverage and that's mainly due to CB Jaire Alexander who is a shut down CB if there ever was one. The Packers are in a competitive division, so that's really the only reason I could see them dropping.

#14 LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (23)

The Los Angeles Chargers come into the edition at 14th in our rankings. It's not because of their YPI, which is 12th. It's not because of their cap situation, which is ranked 7th. It's not because of their QB situation, which is ranked 4th with Justin Herbert. It's all because of their offensive line, and their lack of weapons on offense. They let WR Keenan Allen go, they let WR Mike Williams go too. Their top WR right now is Joshua Palmer (79 ovr). They did go out and sign two RBs from the Ravens in Gus Edwards and JK Dobbins. They also signed WR DJ Chark Jr (93 speed). But these names are nothing to shake a stick at, and it's not exciting anyone. The Chargers will need to go out and get a couple play makers on offense for Justin Herbert and then these guys will be a team to watch out for. Also, they are 4th in optimal rush because of Khalil Mack who can still go and Joey Bosa who decided to return as well. Their secondary, besides SS Derwin James, needs some help too as they come in ranked 20th overall.

#15 HOUSTON TEXANS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (24)

Houston is undoubtedly an up and coming team on the rise. With the emergence of QB CJ Stroud last season, the Texans will be a sexy pick in a franchise. That coupled with the fact that they went out and got WR Stefon Diggs in the offseason to pair up with Nico Collins and Tank Dell, an already stacked position. Also, they went and signed HB Joe Mixon too. The Texans offensive weapons rating is 2nd in the league and deservedly so. The Texans are on the older side ranked 20th in YPI. They also have some cap issues, ranked 26th. So if a coach can figure out those two things, which usually go hand in hand, they'll be in great shape. They are also lacking in the offensive line and run defense part of their squad, but like we mentioned they are up and coming and have some building to still do. Either way, i love the Texans and think they will be a great team to run with in a franchise and whoever gets them will have a lot of fun.

#16 PITTSBURGH STEELERS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (25)

The Pittsburgh Steelers are a sleeper pick if there ever was one. Sure they don't have the offense that you'd like, 28th in offensive weapons, 23rd in offensive line, 20th in QB ranking. However, their defense is something you can absolutely build around. TJ Watt, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Cameron Heyward, Alex Highsmith, Patrick Queen! The offense isn't really something you should disregard. HB Najee Harris is always tops in the league in rushing, WR George Pickens is very nice as well. QB Justin Fields is behind Russell Wilson in the ratings, but most coaches will most likely be starting Fields over Wilson. If not, you can trade both and get back some nice capital. Either way, the Steelers are a solid pick and a good team to build.

#17 TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (26)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are one of those teams that you count out but they keep proving us wrong. Last edition with the loss of Tom Brady, we thought they'd fall back a little bit but they wound up winning their division and now they are in a right in the middle of the pack position to be a decent franchise team. They are in the 2nd best salary position in the league. Their YPI is right middle of the pack as well, 17th. Offensive line, offensive weapons, and optimal rush are in the lower 3rd in the league. However they still have WR Mike Evans and WR Chris Godwin, the ageless duo still making plays out there. Rachaad White is a nice back, not flashy but he gets the job done. QB Baker Mayfield is a decent QB that can be a great stop gap for a drafted rookie. The Bucs have a lot of nice pieces, they are lacking some play makers that would be something to develop but other than that, i like these guys.

#18 WASHINGTON COMMANDERS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (27)

The Commanders drafted a rookie QB in the first round, in Hayden Daniels and that's enough right there to draft them. They are a little on the older side with a 23 YPI ranking. They are in the top 10 in salary and that's because of their rookie QB, so this is something you can definitely work with and improve this team with the freed up cap space. Their weapons are absolutely lacking ranked 23rd and with basically Terry McLaurin leading the way. They did sign HB Austin Ekeler but he's getting older, and ratings are diminishing. I love the signing of LB Bobby Wagner, who is on his last leg, but will bring some boom to that defense that needs it. The run defense is the best part of their team , ranked 7th overall with Jonathan Allen at DT. The Commanders are in a tough division but they are up and coming, get rid of some dead cap and draft well and you will have a great team on your hands.

#19 CINCINNATI BENGALS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (28)

I think some people forgot that this team was AFC Champions a few seasons ago, they are 1 season removed from being in another AFC Championship. Don't let Joe Burrow's injury last season make you forget how dangerous he is with Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. The Bengals have the main pieces already in place to build around. Burrow is coming in ranking the Bengals 6th in QB rankings. The issue is that after Tee Higgins, there's a pretty significant drop off in talent on this team. They let Joe Mixon walk so it looks like Zack Moss will be the starting HB. They also have some serious issues on run defense and coverage. Trey Hendrickson is a really nice defensive end, but other than him the Bengals are lacking secondary and defensive line. The Bengals are an interesting team, you will need to be creative to get the pieces you need, but i mean you have Burrow and Chase it doesn't get much better than that.

#20 MINNESOTA VIKINGS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (29)

The Vikings are another one of those teams who is entering the franchise with a rookie 1st round QB in J.J. McCarthy. With the 8th best salary cap in the league, the Vikings have room to make a lot of moves to build around a rookie QB and quite possibly the best WR on the planet in Justin Jefferson. The Vikings are 4th best in weapons and thats thanks in part to Jefferson, but also WR Jordan Addison, and the newly acquired HB Aaron Jones. Sprinkle in a little TJ Hockenson and you have a solid offense. Defense is the problem in Minnesota, they let the MOF legend Danielle Hunter walk, and SS Harrison Smith is getting older and older. I like the acquisition of LB Andrew Van Ginkel, but these guys are suffering on defense. The first order of business is to make some moves to get that 30th ranked rush up, and 29th ranked coverage score up!

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (30)
#21 LOS ANGELES RAMS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (31)

The LA Rams were dealt a huge blow by the retirement of Aaron Donald. It immediately impacted a lot of their rankings, including optimal rush (26th) and run d (26th). It also helped their salary cap though, as they come in ranked 4th in that category. So you have room to improve the roster. Their QB Ranking is 25th because of the age of Matthew Stafford and really no replacement behind him. So if you can figure the QB situation out early in the franchise, then you will be in good shape. The other thing I noticed is that the Rams do not have anyone rated over an 88 on their entire roster. Which is a little surprising to me, I would have thought Cooper Kupp would be in the 90s. Nevertheless, the Rams have some decent weapons in Kupp, Nacua, and Kyren Williams. Enough to build a team around. The Rams are on the up swing, just fix that QB situation.

#22 INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (32)

The Colts are coming in 22nd in our overall rankings this edition. They are a middle of the pack kind of team to start a franchise with. The QB situation is ranked 7th overall because of Anthony Richardson waiting in the wings. If you can develop him, you will be in for a treat. They are also ranking in 3rd in offensive line. We all know that is a very hard position to develop so having that off the bat is a huge advantage. Now the bad parts. They are 25th in YPI, so they need to get younger. They are 23rd in salary cap, dumping off some of that needs to happen. And the worst of all they are 2nd to last in coverage. Obviously not good and will need some immediate attention.

#23 ATLANTA FALCONS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (33)

The Atlanta Falcons are another team that drafted a QB in the 1st round, and he could be the best of the punch in Michael Penix Jr. who has 86 speed and 90 accel to go along with his 92 throw power. He is obviously the QB of the future for Atlanta, so what do you do with Kirk Cousins? The Falcons have the 2nd worst salary cap situation going into this edition and that's one of the biggest reasons why. They have a few good weapons in Kyle Pitts and HB Bijan Robinson. They have some middle of the road WRs in Rondale Moore and Darnell Mooney, so they really lack a play making WR that every team really seems to need to compete. Atlanta is on the lower side of teams you should start a franchise with with some tough situations, especially in the run defense department. But if you like developing a young QB and turning a roster around, this team is for you.

#24 SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (34)

The Seahawks come in at 24th overall in our edition rankings. Their strength is clearly their youth power index, which ranks 5th overall in the league. They are filled with young good players that can turn great. They have two excellent receivers in Lockett and Metcalf who compliment each other very nicely, and then Kenneth Walker III at HB who is one of the fastest backs in the game. Their QB situation is a messy one with Geno Smith getting older and just not really getting the job done. They also are in the lower tier of salary cap rankings, so that needs some attention as well. The defense was once the most solid part of the Seahawks for years, is now mediocre to say the least. The strongest part is their coverage, ranked 16th but they need to improve on the defensive side of the ball pretty quickly if they want to compete.

#25 NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (35)

The Patriots have seen a huge decline over the past couple of editions with the loss of Tom Brady. They were never able to really find a suitable replacement, well until now. Rookie first round pick QB Drake Maye looks to take the Patriots to the next level this edition, and whoever gets this rookie will have a fun time with his 94 throw power and 86 speed. The Patriots have an older team, but their salary cap ranking is 5th overall. So just think of unloading some older talent, and freeing up even more salary cap to make some great moves to build around that first round QB. The Patriots also rank dead last in weapons, and that's no surprise with zero x-factor players. They really need an influx of youth, speed, and play makers. The Patriots have the QB, now its time to get some players.

#26 TENNESSEE TITANS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (36)

The Titans come into this edition again lacking some star firepower. They are 19th in QB rankings with Will Levis being the young starter, he has a ton of upside but 72 is a very low rating without an ability. They are also ranking 2nd to last in YPI which means they need to get younger quickly. They did go out and replace HB Derrick Henry with HB Tony Pollard, I'm not really sure if that's an upgrade but its a better long term solution. The big off-season pick up was CB L'Jarius Sneed who was a huge signing and immediately makes the Titans top 5 in coverage with Caleb Farley and Chidobe Awuzie. They did lose Kevin Byard, but i don't think they will feel it with the addition of Sneed. The Titans are on the lower half of franchise teams, they need some help, not a lot of firepower. It's going to take a good GM to turn them into a contender.

#27 LAS VEGAS RAIDERS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (37)

The Raiders are a struggling team there's no question about it. After Maxx Crosby and Davante Adams these guys are lacking talent and play makers. Their QB situation is ranked last in the league with Gardner Minshew probably as your starter. They are also ranking dead last in YPI which means they have older players that are not cutting it. The Raiders are a 9th in optimal rush which is all thanks to Maxx who is one of, if not, the best rushing end in the league. So how do you turn this team into a winner? It's going to take a lot of work, and a lot of coaches like the challenge of building a team through the draft, trades and free-agency which is exactly what you'll have to do pretty much from the start of the franchise.

#28 NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (38)

The Saints might be the 28th team in the rankings, which is very low, but they have some very good defensive pieces in Demario Davis, Tyrann Mathieu, Marshon Lattimore, Cam Jordan, and Chase Young. That's 5 extremely talented defenders. Chris Olave is easily the best offensive weapon on a team that is ranking 25th in offensive weapons. They still have Alvin Kamara who is losing a step, but can still ball. The QB situation is 2nd worst in the league with Derek Carr as your starter and just getting older. So immediate action is to figure out that QB situation when you start the franchise. They are also 3rd worst in salary cap and 29th in YPI. So they have a lot of obstacles standing in their way before you even start. Good luck!

#29 CAROLINA PANTHERS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (39)

The Carolina Panthers are coming in 4th worst in our rankings to start your franchise with. As you can see, they do not have many weapons, ranking 31st overall in offensive weapons. They are 27th in YPI, 22nd in salary, 24th in QB Rankings. They are 28th in optimal rush, and 22nd in coverage. They have a lot to build and work on. They have a 2nd year QB in Bryce Young that you can develop into a monster if you play a good QB. However, they need a lot of GM work to get back into a manageable cap situation. Also the talent is just not there, after Derrick Brown, there is no other player rated higher than an 86. Jadeveon Clowney is 3rd best on the team with an 84 rating, at 31 yrs old. The Panthers need to make moves as soon as the franchise starts, it could be fun, or it could frustrating.

#30 NEW YORK GIANTS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (40)

The Giants are the 3rd worst team to start a franchise with according to our rankings. However, they have the 6th best rush in the entire game. Brian Burns newly acquired gives Kayvon Thibodeaux some relief and Dexter Lawrence more push up the middle. Their defense is solid, however their offense is not good at all. Especially with the loss of Barkley. They replaced him with Devin Singletary. Weapons are lacking on this team as well, ranking 29th overall. They do have a rookie WR in Malik Nabers who should be a threat right out of the gate. However, their QB situation just is not very good. Daniel Jones looks to be the starter with Drew Lock and Tommy Cutlets backing him up. There's a lot of money hung up in Danny Dimes which is a shame and puts them behind the 8 ball. Avoid them.

#31 DENVER BRONCOS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (41)

The Broncos are in midst of a full rebuild. They are the 2nd worst team to start a franchise with this edition and it shows. After Patrick Surtain there is a huge drop off in talent. They have a rookie QB in Bo Nix who you can develop and they have the 10th best salary cap situation in the league which gives you some freedom to make some moves to get these guys the weapons they need. Speaking of weapons they are ranked 27th in offensive weapons. WR Courtland Sutton and HB Javonte Williams are very nice players and a middle of the road offensive line (19th) should be enough to build around. The Broncos also have a 25th ranked YPI which isn't good when you already have issues everywhere else.

#32 ARIZONA CARDINALS

MOFLeagues.com - Madden '25 Team Rankings | (42)

The Arizona Challenge is Back!! The Cardinals are ranked the absolute worst team to start a franchise with this edition and they are familiar with being the worst team in the game. They rank 30th in YPI, 30th in Oline, dead last in optimal rush and run d. 28th in coverage. They rank 16th in Cap and 16th in QB Rankings thanks to Kyler Murray. Besides Kyler Murray this team is just not good. A lot of work is needed, a lot of miracle work, trades, big moves and maybe you can turn this team into a contender. Whoever picks them has their work cut out for them to say the least.
