Why Psychological Safety Matters in Building a Thriving Workplace? It’s a proven fact that creating psychological safety immensely benefits the cultivation of a positive and productive organizational culture. Conversely, a lack of psychological safety can have detrimental effects on the work culture within the organization. Since work culture is always leadership-driven, leaders need to be vigilant and proactive in identifying and addressing signs that indicate a lack of psychological safety.Based on my experience, the following key behaviors and situations are clear watch-outs that need immediate attention before it’s too late:1. Silence in Important Meetings and Employee Townhalls: If people do not express their ideas, ask questions, or engage in discussions during meetings and town halls, it’s a clear symptom that there is something wrong.2. Turnover Rates: Employee turnover rates across the organization can provide valuable insights. High turnover rates often indicate deeper issues related to the workplace environment, including a lack of psychological safety.3. Feedback from Social Media and Review Platforms: Monitoring platforms like Glassdoor and LinkedIn etc., can reveal the reality of the workplace culture. Negative reviews and comments can highlight underlying issues that need to be addressed.4. Employee Surveys and Feedback: Low scores in areas related to communication, trust, and support are clear red flags.5. Internal Referral Programs: Low response to internal referral programs for job openings is another indication of a lack of psychological safety.6. Reluctance to Counter Viewpoints or Report Issues: If employees are always saying "yes" to everything and are hesitant to report problems, mistakes, or unethical behavior, it suggests they fear negative consequences.7. Lack of Initiative and Innovation: Employees may stop taking initiative or avoid suggesting new ideas due to a fear of failure or criticism.By keeping a constant check on these indicators, leaders can take timely actions to foster a psychologically safe environment. What are your thoughts on the topic? Do share your experiences.#Leadership #WorkCulture #PsychologicalSafety

I couldn’t agree more with Adam Grant’s powerful message on leadership. It’s a crucial reminder for those aspiring to be inspirational leaders.Great leaders understand the importance of respect and professionalism in the workplace. True leadership involves inspiring and motivating your team, not belittling them. Treating people with dignity and respect isn’t optional – it’s a fundamental requirement#leadership. #inspiration

Embrace the Shift: Move from Self-Doubt to Self-Confidence to Unlock True Potential! In my experience and observation of many leaders and individuals, we constantly face the dilemma of self-doubt, especially when we aim to achieve tasks outside our comfort zones. Here are some reflections on this topic.Self-doubt often stands as a significant hurdle. Individuals plagued by self-doubt frequently grapple with a lack of confidence, fear of failure, indecisiveness, perfectionism, and negative self-talk. These traits hinder their ability to seize opportunities, lead effectively, and maintain healthy relationships. The perspectives below can make a huge difference and help you take that first step today to embrace the shift towards building self-confidence:- It's okay not to have all the answers; you can always ask others for guidance.- It's okay if you have limitations; you can overcome them over time.- It's okay if your path looks different from others; you're pursuing your passion.- It's okay if you are not the best compared to others; you can improve.- It's okay if progress is slow; you can accelerate once you find your success formula.- It's okay if you make mistakes along the way; you can learn valuable lessons.- It's okay if you fail; you can take corrective actions and succeed in your next attempt.- It's okay if you're still figuring things out; it means you're on the path to progress.- It's okay if you feel unsure sometimes; you can always seek expert advice.- It's okay if you don't have the best social skills; you can develop them.- It's okay if you don't have a network; you can build one over time.- It's okay if you need to ask for help; you'll gain support in the process.- It's okay if you're still building your confidence; it's just a matter of time.Aside from these principles, it’s important to realize that you can always learn and bridge the gaps you feel are lacking in pursuing your passion. Trusting yourself and having the determination to pursue your goals are key enablers in this journey.Taking that first step is the key to unlocking your true potential!I would love to hear your experiences and thoughts!#SelfDoubt #SelfConfidence #PersonalGrowth #Leadership

What a power-packed week it was! This Monday, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Human Resources Leadership Council (HRLC) conference, which brought together HR leaders from across Malaysia. It was an inspiring and enriching experience featuring spotlight sessions, panel discussions, and workshops on key topics, reminding us of our current realities while preparing us for the future. The significance of the HRLC in uniting HR leaders in Malaysia was evident, as the gathering achieved a Malaysia Book of Records milestone with over 270 HR leaders in attendance! Simply put, HRLC is a powerhouse playing a vital role in advancing talent development for the future of the country.Key takeaways from the conference included:- Datuk Shahul Dawood, Chief Executive of Human Resources Development Corporation, Malaysia, delivered a truly inspiring session detailing the various initiatives being undertaken to build the right skills and capabilities for the industry. He emphasized that HR leaders can play a significant role through strong partnerships and collaboration to further HRDC's efforts.- Thomas Mathew Group CEO of TalentCorp presented a promising and thought-provoking session on the Talent Framework and future-proofing Malaysia’s workforce, highlighting the transformative impact of AI and digitization. It was fascinating to learn about the various impactful initiatives being undertaken by TalentCorp, underscoring the need for stronger collaboration between TalentCorp and HRLC to build industry-ready talent. - Presentations from other prominent speakers from CIPD, IMD, and HumanInc, as well as other HR leaders, highlighted the crucial importance of continuous learning in our ever-changing business environment. - The CSR initiative, Dapur Bantu Siswa (Graduates Food Bank Program) was a humbling experience and a poignant reminder of the significant impact we can have and the need to do more for such causes. The week culminated in a Gala dinner on Friday with a red carpet theme, filled with glamour, glitter, fun, and laughter. It was a much-needed stress-buster evening!I was pleasantly surprised with the recognition for my support to the HR Seed program! Thank you, HRLC!A big shoutout to the Fabulous Four - Farid Basir Dr. Syukri Sudari Laurence Yap Haikal A. for organizing such an outstanding event! Now, it’s time to relax and enjoy some much-deserved "me time" this weekend. 😊

Great post, Noemi Kis! It's a reminder for leaders to understand the importance of how feedback is given and its impact on individual and team performance! Giving feedback effectively is an art and a crucial skill that leaders must develop to build trust within their teams and promote a culture of high performance. Constructive feedback helps individuals understand their strengths and areas for improvement, fostering an environment of continuous growth and mutual respect. When leaders provide feedback with clarity, empathy, and a focus on development, they can enhance team cohesion, boost productivity, and drive better outcomes. By mastering this skill, leaders can inspire their teams to strive for excellence and achieve collective goals.
